In general, what do you hope to get out of this grant program?

I hope to be able to provide resources to my teachers and students. I am still a certified middle level and high school history teacher; I am always looking for opportunities to learn more.

What are you most proud of in your professional life so far?

I have participated in a workshop for the DOE for their lesson plans celebrating African American history. My last year in the classroom I was my school’s Teacher of the Year (2017-2018).

What are your greatest strengths and your biggest weaknesses as an educator?

I love history and try to instill that love of history to my students.

I feel like there is still so much that I still have to learn. I’m excited for this opportunity to learn more.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy hiking, traveling, reading and playing with my dog Koda.
